workin out

anyone want to come do some jillian michaels this week? it's pretty brutal. Just let me know. Also, I need some input on when to have the party where we can discuss all the particulars!!! Sometime in the first two weeks of MARCH. Stacie's the only one that's responded. PLEASE give some input- even if it ends up being: :"I don't care- I'm not coming to your stupid party." It won't hurt my feelings, promise :)

I get to watch TV!

I've finally figured out how to exercise....find your favorite show that is on at the same time each day. 10:00 p.m. works for me. That is my time to watch tv for a second AND get my exercise done at the same time. I don't want to quit early in the routine because then I can't justify sitting to watch t.v. And no one wants me at 10:00 at night. It's MY time and I'm keeping it!

New video

So we bought the Jillian Michaels Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout DVD. Kicks. Your. Butt. Way fun, I love it to pieces but its....whooo. Anyone up for a butt whooping? Me and jack are going to try to do it in the evenings so if anyone else wants to come sweat it off and have fun doing it let me know :)

I have to say that we're still having some issues with reporting in- I think it would be most useful to just make a comment that reports your week {ex: 3/4} . That simple? Or you can always email me at What evening works the best during the week for everyone for a kick off party??? I'm happy to host- also a Saturday may work really well too- just let me know your preferences. I'm looking to host it somewhere between March 3-13Th. Preferably sooner rather than later so we can iron out details. I'm hoping that we can play some Dance Dance Revolution so that we can get some exercise in that evening all together :)

Whats the deal with this new work out fad? Have you ever heard of this new fad?

Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away.

I have seen one of my friends from St George doing this crazy fun work out and I have to say that I want a taste.

Last week I found out that the Kearns Fitness center offers this class on Mondays at 9 pm and Thursdays at 9 pm. West Valley offers it Wednesdays from 8 - 9 pm.

I am thinking that we should get together on one of those nights and go check it out. Or another alternative is to purchase a video online and try it out that way. Which route would you ladies and gents want to go? Post a comment and let me know what you think.

Just checking in

I totally forgot to check in for last weeks work out. I did my 4 out of 4 days.

This week is going to be hard for me. I have a lot happening, Monday and Tuesday I have been sick, tonight (Wednesday) I have the Blue & Gold Banquet for the cubscouts, Thursday I have a photo gig for the BSA at the 100 anniversary Gala event, Friday and Saturday are really my two only open days. I could of course work out in the morning tomorrow since the Gala is in the evening. I will work it out. I will get my 4 days in!!

The high school track

So I went to the HS track at 10 min to 7am this morning. I met Stacie and Alicia and we walked the track and then ran the stairs between each lap. It was a great workout and we had fun chatting but you know ladies and gent. I think it is not about the size you are or want to be but HOW YOU FEEL. there I said it. Go with it and RUN.

Kellie's update

So here it goes I have been in my own little world literally. But I have been exercising. I have done all but one day last week. I had a way busy weekend with errands, writing talks, preparing all new beginnings and everything in between. I have found that I need to change up my routines a lot. I was a dance major so i can make up my own workout pretty well and the rest I rely on my yoga videos and jillian michaels. The Jillian michaels vid that I have is way hard for me and I haven't got all the way through it, so that is the biggest reason I do other stuff in the middle. i am working up my endurance. I was talking to my brother yesterday and he mentioned he had started taking an hour and a half yoga class. where they lock them in a super heated room and make them work it out the entire hour and a half. He says he drenches his clothes and the towel below him. Man, I wish I could join him, but he lives in Reno. Dude, I could totally get in shape if my bro was here. He trains for triathalons. he is looking for a job here in ut. So maybe I will get lucky. He says his dilemma is that his friend dietician says he has to eat 5,000 calories a day to keep up with his workouts and he doesn't know where to find all the high in calorie and nutritious stuff , plus money is always an issue too. It was an inspiration in you can call it that talking to him yesterday. I even did my jillian michaels vid I was so inspired. Yay me! not the whole thing of course but I am getting closer.

whatcha doin???

What are you guys liking to do for your exercise??? Any fun new ideas?? I've enjoyed doing some days on my ex ball. doing crunches and push ups and leg lifts on there really sends you for a loop the next day.

I was thinking maybe in april we can do a feild trip with our groupies to the zoo with the kiddo's and hubbies...what do you think?

Adding up the first week

Okay so I've been keeping track for everyone on a pretty xcel sheet but I don't know how to add it to you just get an ugly list instead:
Gayle: 3 out of 4 days (and she was soooo sick! WAY TO GO!!!)
Stacie: 4 out of 4 days (great job on that 17 min mile by the way!!)
Amanda: 3 out of 3 days
Jack: 4 out of 4 days

Kathy will be starting this week with us. Let me know if anyone else is willing to join our group- the more we have the better the support system. (stacie- is bobbie wanting to join our group??) I know for me I was about to not exercise on saturday night- it was the last thing I wanted to do knowing that church was going to be at 9 am and it was late already- but I did it because I didn't want to let ya'll down. Let's keep this going!
Good Job so far!! Keep on going! Get your spouses to do it with you- it's more support that we all can have :)

K, so I want to do a reprint of the previous posts so that we have them on this blog, but it won't let met paste anything to this post...I know I've done it before but for some reason it's not letting me. Tell me what I'm doing wrong!! Anyway I'll summarize some of it I guess.
*instead of typing the word exercise a whole bunch of times I'm going to refer to it as "ex" from here on out.*
  • Keep track of which days you complete your ex. time and email me at the end of each week to let me know which days you missed. I don't need to know what you did for your ex you just need to tell me whether or not you COMPLETED your time you've committed to.
  • If you're sick I think we should go by what jillian michaels said on her web site about working out while sick. If it is chest or above (common cold/flu coughing sneezing runny nose and such) you can still work out. If it affects your stomach area or lower ease it up a bit. For the easy work out I think we should accept 1/2 a workout for that day. Part of doing your workouts is not leaving them until the end of the week when you're sick.
  • You need to do your ex SEPARATE days. You cannot do two workouts on one day. You cannot do an extra long workout one day to pass off more than one work out.
  • (this is up for a vote) If you have done all your committed ex early in the week and have a few days left you can do an extra workout that week to save for a week in that month that you missed a day. (Like if you get sick???)
  • Any week that you miss ex days you have to put .50 in the pot per day you missed.
  • I think that's the jist of it. let me know if you have issues with what I've posted. I need more people to input to this blog. Tell me if you're willing to contribute :) I'll add you as an author.
